Artist Bio

Jay Pruitt is an independent queer artist crafting cinematic disco-pop rooted in desire, identity, and emotional intensity. Drawing inspiration from icons like Donna Summer and Lana Del Rey, his music blends shimmering synths, four-on-the-floor rhythms, and unapologetic storytelling into a sound that feels both nostalgic and immediate.

Fusing the pulse of classic disco with a modern queer perspective, Jay creates music that moves between euphoric dancefloor highs and vulnerable late-night confessions. His work explores intimacy, connection, heartbreak, fantasy, and self-expression; inviting listeners into worlds that feel glamorous, emotional, and deeply human all at once.

At the center of his current era is Bodies Collide, a neon-lit exploration of modern love and longing. Built through a fully independent creative process, the project reflects Jay’s hands-on artistic vision across songwriting, production direction, visual aesthetics, and worldbuilding.

Beyond music, Jay is also an anthropologist whose academic work focuses on fandom, identity, and culture. That lens carries into his artistry, shaping music that is as much about emotional experience and belonging as it is about escapism. Whether through intense dance anthems or intimate lyrical moments, Jay Pruitt’s work invites listeners to feel deeply, move freely, and lose themselves in the after hours.
